Sustainability at Bashe Dairy Farm isn’t a branding exercise — it’s how the estate is run day to day. An operational solar energy system is already reducing our reliance on diesel and the TANESCO grid, while a 650m × 300m × 11m irrigation dam gives every hectare of crop and every head of livestock year-round water security.
Livestock waste is converted into organic fertiliser and returned to our own 300+ acres of maize and silage, closing the loop between the dairy herd and the feed that sustains it. Sunflower cultivation adds a second layer to that cycle, producing edible oil while its oilcake becomes a high-protein feed supplement.
Total Mixed Ration (TMR) feeding, mixed and delivered on-farm, keeps that entire system nutritionally consistent — reducing waste, improving herd health, and lowering the cost per litre of milk we produce.
