Bashe Dairy Farm’s roots trace back to 1946, when the founder’s grandfather began traditional livestock keeping and subsistence farming — not with capital or infrastructure, but with a fundamental commitment to the land.
The second generation preserved that foundation through decades where many family farming traditions in Tanzania were lost to neglect or economic pressure. In 2007, Hussein Bashe took over the family’s livestock operations across Morogoro, Bagamoyo and Nzega, beginning a deliberate modernisation drive.
By 2018, those scattered operations were consolidated into a single, modern farm at Uyui, Tabora Region — with organised infrastructure, roads, and a purpose-built irrigation dam. Today that same site supports 6,400+ head of livestock across 3,000 acres, producing 20,000 litres of milk a day on a determined path to 60,000.
